I. The list

At the core of IMPRO is a single list of trusted users. This list is owned and managed by the official IMPRO account, and you can view it here. This centralized list of users allows IMPRO members to curate their interactions and feeds in a unique way.

II. IMPRO membership

To become an IMPRO member (i.e. to be added to the list), you need 3 passing vibe checks from existing IMPRO members. Members can vibe check you by searching for your name on the IMPRO website and clicking a button to endorse. This trust mechanism helps keep IMPRO limited to known accounts, while also allowing it to grow organically over time.

If you aren't a member yet, you can still sign in to the IMPRO website and see your vibe check status.

III. IMPRO-only threads

This is the primary value offering of IMPRO. Bluesky offers several default threadgates to limit replies to posts (e.g. "followers only"). IMPRO adds a custom threadgate to limit replies to IMPRO members only, allowing you to curate your experience.

IV. Membership types

Once you have 3 passing vibe checks, you'll be added to the IMPRO list automatically! Once you're on the list, you'll be able to see your membership status on the IMPRO website. There are two "levels" of membership, defined by the types of actions you can take:

• - viewer: You can participate in IMPRO-only threads. This is the default status for all new members.
• - node: In addition to participating in IMPRO-only threads, you can also create IMPRO-only threads and vibe-check other users.

These membership types are separated simply because we need extra permissions to accomplish the actions required for node functionality. There are no special requirements to become a node, other than signing in to the IMPRO website and clicking "Become a node."

V. Feeds

In addition to IMPRO-only threads, IMPRO also offers curated feeds. These are:
